The Bavarian Volunteer Card
...a visible sign of recognition for special civic commitment.
Volunteering takes place largely on site - in the community, the city, the district in which the volunteers live. And yet every civic engagement makes a contribution to the common good that has an impact beyond the boundaries of the respective community, city or district and ultimately benefits the entire Free State. For this reason, the Free State of Bavaria, the independent cities and the counties of Bavaria are working together to send a "thank you" to the particularly committed citizens with this honorary activity card, which is valid throughout Bavaria. By presenting your Ehrenamtskarte to our acceptance partners, you can take advantage of various benefits and discounts.
Who gets the card?
Volunteers must meet the following personal requirements if they want to receive a Bavarian Volunteer Card:
- Voluntary unpaid commitment of an average of five hours per week or, in the case of project work, at least 250 hours per year. Reasonable reimbursement of expenses is permissible.
- Active in civic engagement for at least two years with a focus on the common good.
- Minimum age: 16 years.
- Residence: City of Hof
- On request, without further examination of the eligibility requirements, a Ehrenamtskarte is issued to - holders of a Juleica - active firefighters with completed basic firefighter training - active emergency services personnel with completed basic training for their respective area of operation.
- Persons who have fulfilled the requirements for the blue honorary office card for 25 years, holders of the honorary badge of the Prime Minister as well as firefighters and emergency service personnel and in other units of disaster control, who have received a service award in accordance with the Fire Brigade and Relief Organizations Honors Act (FwHOEzG), receive a gold honorary service card with unlimited validity (application also required).
