Honoring long-standing THW members

The four honorees can look back on decades of commitment to the community.

The city of Hof held a ceremony to honor four deserving members of the German Federal Agency for Technical Relief for their many years of commitment to the organization. Mayor Eva Döhla personally presented the certificates: "Your careers, your priorities and areas of work are very individual. Each of you has your own personal story of commitment and has gone your own way. But what you all have in common is performance, reliability and solidarity," said Eva Döhla.

Dr. Florian Schott, who has been active since 1999, was honored. After completing his basic training, he has been a specialist assistant in the electrical supply and rescue teams for the past 25 years.

Hans-Dieter Ertl was also honored for 25 years. During his many years of service, he has held a number of different positions in the local association, e.g. as a specialist helper in the rescue group or as an area instructor in motor vehicles.

Thomas Degelmann can look back on 40 years with the THW. He completed various training courses in the field of technical aid, but above all held special functions, such as examiner for basic training, radio operator, safety officer, breathing apparatus wearer, local operations manager for the city of Hof and head of the THW command center.

Georg Seidel joined the THW in November 1974. 50 years of voluntary work are a reflection of his many training and further education courses and positions. In addition to basic training, training as a team leader of the telecommunications equipment, as a radio operator and as a leader of telecommunications operations, he was head of telecommunications operations at FMZ Hof Land for over 15 years. He was also active on the board of the THW Helfervereinigung Hof e.V..
