Fleet service boat "Alster" celebrates the 593rd Hofer Schlappentag

The bond between the city of Hof and the fleet service boat Alster was once again visibly demonstrated at this year's Schlappentag.

Thanks to the organization of the Hof Naval Association, a delegation of soldiers from the naval base in Kiel was able to travel to Hof for a weekend - and thus further deepen the sponsorship.

Mayor Eva Döhla: "The fact that we were able to celebrate this day with our guests from our sponsored boat gives it a special touch. Because that is also part of Hof: foresight, openness to the world and the joy of special encounters."

The delegation took part in key events on the city's national day - from the traditional "Schlappenschießen" shooting event to the festivities on Schlappentag itself and a visit to the new adventure golf course at Untreusee. The delegation from the "Alster" was welcomed by all three mayors at the Schlappenschießen on Sunday morning.

For many years now, the Hof Naval Association has been working hard to maintain close contact between the town and the navy. The Christmas meeting with crew members in Hof is also a firm tradition. This year's program for the delegation extended beyond the festive season. Over the weekend, the guests were able to experience Franconian hospitality, discover the city and socialize with Hof residents over a meal together.
