Hof City Library

Books and more for young and old

Books, audio books, films, music, console and board games ... The Hof public library has around 95,000 items available to borrow. There are also around 30 magazines to borrow and several local and national newspapers to read on site. Do you prefer digital? Then use FrankenOnleihe. This service gives you access to more than 60,000 media, which you can conveniently download to your PC, laptop, tablet or e-reader - from home, around the clock, free of charge.

PLEASE NOTE: Until 12 September 2025, the municipal library will close at 6 p.m. on Fridays.

Awakening the joy of reading

Getting children excited about reading and helping them learn to read is something that is particularly close to the heart of the Hof Public Library. From the weekly toddler group "Bücherbabies" for the very young, to volunteer reading mentors, to the annual reading competition for 6th graders - reading promotion is a top priority here.

Readings and events

Fancy meeting your favorite author and getting to know him or her better? Then visit one of the readings held several times a year by regionally or nationally known authors. In addition, lectures and events on current topics are organized time and again. Here you have the opportunity to inform yourself and exchange ideas.

So there are plenty of reasons to pay a visit to the Hof public library.
