Overall concept for senior citizens
A total of 48,402 people live in the city of Hof, 14,401 of whom are over 60. This corresponds to a share of 30 percent.
What opportunities and challenges does this present and what needs are there to make the city of Hof senior-friendly? The overall senior citizens' policy concept focuses on the group of citizens aged 60 and over and highlights the possibilities and opportunities of active ageing. The concept provides a guideline for the city of Hof's future work with senior citizens. The mandatory legal basis for all municipalities is regulated in Article 69 of the law on the implementation of social legislation.
For a self-determined life
On November 11, 2024, the overall senior citizens' policy concept was adopted by the Hof City Council. It serves as a basis and guideline for the future planning and further development of our services in the area of work with senior citizens and assistance for the elderly. The impetus provided by this concept offers us the opportunity to shape Hof in a way that is suitable for senior citizens - for a long, active and self-determined life.

Results of the public participation
Around 120 interested citizens took the opportunity to contribute their suggestions and concerns at a total of three public participation events on the overall senior citizens' policy concept. We would like to thank them for their committed participation, their interest and the ideas they contributed to the concept!

Citizen survey 60+
Central results
In order to first determine the needs in the city of Hof, a survey of citizens aged 60 and over was conducted in March 2023. A total of 2,141 Hof residents were randomly sampled and asked to complete a questionnaire. The most important results can be viewed here and have been incorporated into the concept.
