Flag flying on Europe Day

On the occasion of Europe Day, the city's buildings will be flying flags on May 9.

Europe Day is celebrated every year on May 9 to promote peace and unity in Europe. It marks the anniversary of the Schuman Declaration, in which Robert Schuman presented his idea for a new form of political cooperation in Europe in 1950, which would make war between the nations of Europe unthinkable. Robert Schuman's proposal is regarded as the birth of what we now call the European Union.
