Hof celebrates city friendships and partnerships

Delegations from Hof municipalities and Ogden/USA visit Hof

From 25 July to 4 August 2025, the city of Hof will be the scene of international and national encounters: Over 40 guests from Hof near Salzburg (Austria), Hof am Leithaberge (Austria) and Hof im Westerwald (Rhineland-Palatinate) will be travelling to the city on the occasion of the 35th anniversary of the town friendship between the four "Hof municipalities". Among them: the traditional costume musicians from Hof near Salzburg. Just a few days later, a delegation from the US twin town of Ogden (Utah), with which Hof has been on friendly terms for over 70 years, will follow.

During their stay, the guests from the Hof municipalities can expect a historical tour of the city of Hof and the Theresienstein. In addition to a visit to the Bavarian Vogtland Museum, the visitors from Ogden will also make contact with Hof University of Applied Sciences, where they will be personally welcomed by the President of the university, Prof. Dr Dr h.c. Jürgen Lehmann. Jürgen Lehmann will receive them personally. The guests from Ogden can also look forward to historical city tours.

Mayor Eva Döhla: "This is the first time in the more than 70-year history of our town twinning that the entire Ogden City Council has travelled to Hof together with members of the city administration. This meeting is something very special - a strong sign of the value of international friendship and an expression of a partnership that transcends continents."

Programme highlights

Saturday, 26 July 2025 - "35 years of Hof municipalities" celebration in the marquee on the Volksfestplatz, starting at 4:00 pm

A musical highlight awaits visitors with the "Trachtenmusikanten" from Hof near Salzburg, who will not only accompany the ceremony with 66 musicians, but also create a lively atmosphere. Beforehand, they will take part in the big folk festival parade together with guests from all Hof municipalities.

Tuesday, 29 July 2025 - Visit of the delegation from Ogden at the Hof Volksfest, from 19:00 in the marquee

The delegation from Ogden with the mayor, city councillors and members of the administration will visit the Hof Volksfest - together with representatives from city politics and society. There will be an opportunity to talk to our American guests.

Sunday, 3 August 2025 - Official farewell of the Ogden delegation in the festival tent, 12:00 noon. Hof bids farewell to its American friends at a joint morning pint in the marquee.
