Anniversary of the promulgation of the Basic Law

The Basic Law of the Federal Republic of Germany was promulgated on May 23, 1949. Since then, it has formed the constitutional basis of the democratic and constitutional community in Germany. The anniversary commemorates the importance of the free and democratic basic order and the values that the Basic Law protects and guarantees.

To commemorate this historic event, the city's buildings will be flagged.
