Untreusee

Water, nature and sports in the south of the town.

The Untreusee, with its stretched form, lures sun lovers to its banks all year long. You can’t only daydream there, though...

If you’re not always looking for tranquility and quiet but want sports and activities amid genuine nature, the Untreusee is the right place for you. With a stretch of water of 60 hectare there’s enough space for all leisure activities that a lake can offer. However, it also is a biotope and home to rare plants and bird species.

At the water front of the Untreusee life rages, sportspersons, walkers and bons vivants enjoy the sun.

You can play beach volleyball, basketball and boules or just relax in the sun – after a round of swimming.

How about a little climbing? The climbing center is open until the evening hours and the labyrinth also promises exciting hours – and after that a good barbecue is in order or you can relax in the beer garden at the lake side.

If you’re looking for quiet you can go on southwards and you will soon reach the peaceful fishing area where you can meet one or two nature lovers.

The beautifully designed circular walk makes you want to stroll around or do some Nordic walking. The path brings you around the lake without much of an ascent. The short way (4.4 km/2.7 miles) is via a bridge in the southwest right through the wonderful biotope. The longer path (6.6 km/4.1 miles) goes around this nesting place for birds.

Enjoy an evening in the restaurant or in the beer garden – if snack or a little barbecue meat, both tastes even better with lake view.
