Children's Film Festival

Since 1991, the municipal youth work of the city and district of Hof has been organizing the children's film festival for young cineastes in addition to the well-known "International Hof Film Days" for adults. It takes place every year on the last weekend in January or the first weekend in February at the Central-Kino and is one of the largest events in the region with approximately 2,000 to 3,000 visitors. It also attracts a great deal of attention from visitors, the media and filmmakers beyond the region. Year after year, 18 selected children's and youth films from all over the world are shown, almost all of which have won awards and cover niches far from the mainstream. Since 2000, the "Audience Award of the Kinderfilmfest Hof" has been awarded by the young visitors via the "Bucket Film Rating".

Much offered!

A diverse supporting program as well as discussions with directors and actors, who are always happy to accept the invitation to Hof, round off the offerings of the Kinderfilmfest Hof kreativ. Supported by numerous volunteers and the Sparkasse Hochfranken bank, the organizers offer two days of cinema and festival experiences that are eagerly awaited by many children and families year after year.
