At the invitation of the city of Eger, a delegation from Hof visited the Wallenstein Festival in the Czech twin town. Mayor Angela Bier and members of the city council took part in the opening of the two-day festival weekend.
The programme began on Friday evening with a reception in the museum on the market square. Afterwards, the guests had the opportunity to watch the spectacular opening spectacle. The splendid historical costumes, some of which are specially delivered from Prague, are particularly impressive. The programme also includes a play and a jousting tournament on horseback, a concert with period instruments and the historical market with craft demonstrations, exhibitions and workshops.
The Hof delegation was warmly welcomed by Michal Pospíšil, the second mayor of Eger. He is in charge of the partnership activities with Hof and took the opportunity to further deepen the contact with Hof.
"With the visit to the Wallenstein Festival, the city of Hof emphasises the partnership with Eger, which has been cultivated for many years through regular meetings. We had interesting discussions and gathered new ideas for future projects," said Mayor Angela Bier.
