KoKi with early help

The Coordinating Child Protection Centers - KoKi emerged from the cross-state model project "A good start in childhood". The basic idea behind this model project is to promote and strengthen parents' relationship and parenting skills at an early stage.

There are now over 200 KoKi specialists working at the respective municipal and district youth welfare offices throughout Bavaria. An overview of the Coordinating Child Protection Centers in Bavaria can be found on the separate page of the Bavarian State Ministry of Labor and Social Affairs, Family and Integration.

Who are we?

KoKi is an advice and referral center for targeted help and support services and coordinates networking in the area of early help.

The two KoKi offices in the city and district of Hof work closely together as part of the network and coordinate the services for families and single parents.

Your contact person for the KoKi office in the city of Hof is Ms. Schlegel, Tel. 09281 / 815-1271, while your contact persons for the district of Hof are Ms. Müller (networking), Tel. 09281 / 57-493 and Ms. Krieg (casework), Tel. 09281 / 57-559.

What does KoKi do?

KoKi is a Bavaria-wide support system for expectant parents and parents with children aged 0 to 3 years. The objective of KoKi is:

"To strengthen and support parents so that their children can grow up healthy and loving."

The KoKi service is voluntary, subject to confidentiality and is aimed at parents in difficult circumstances and parents who would like support and relief after the birth of their child.

Solutions to the respective issues are worked out together with the parents during counseling sessions. If the advice offered is not sufficient, KoKi will put parents in touch with other specialist institutions with their consent. In addition, the coordinating child protection centers themselves have a pool of qualified specialists who can support families in their everyday lives.

KoKi's tasks also include interdisciplinary networking with the aim of linking services in the field of early childhood, improving mutual knowledge and agreeing common standards. Our network partners are all services, facilities and professional groups that work with and for families. These include clinics, doctors and midwives, counseling and therapy centers, youth welfare services, government offices, authorities and institutions as well as daycare facilities and numerous other partners.

It goes without saying that

  • our consultations are free of charge and non-binding
  • discussions are confidential and consultations are subject to a duty of confidentiality
  • the information sessions and consultations can also take place in familiar surroundings

What is early help?

The National Center for Early Intervention (NZFH) has released a three-minute short film that clearly explains what early intervention is. It shows how pregnant women and families in need of support can access the services.

In addition to parents, it is also aimed at professionals who support and advise mothers and fathers.

Child protection concept of the city and district of Hof

The two KoKi centers in the city and district of Hof jointly draw up a network-related child protection concept. It represents the essential working basis for the two KoKi centers and the Early Childhood Network and is updated annually. It describes the current situation in the area of early help and network work and contains various objectives.

Here you can download the current update of the network-related child protection concept for the city and district of Hof as a PDF file.
