Exhibition with works by Peter-Michael Tschoepe

Peter-Michael Tschoepe, who died in 2020, painted throughout his life. His (surviving) oeuvre comprises hundreds, if not thousands, of pictures. He mainly painted, drew and collaged on paper. Throughout the decades, his approach has been to use found objects such as newspaper pages or other printed paper as source material, inspiration and a basis for painting. However, during his time as press spokesman and head of the city's public relations department and later as head of cultural affairs, he hardly showed anything publicly in Hof. The city's Department of Culture is now making up for this with an exhibition of well over 100 works in the Freiheitshalle. Peter Nürmberger and Anja Schmidt are curating the show. In the first stage, they will be able to draw on a selection he made himself for an exhibition that was no longer possible due to the pandemic and supplement it with the estate in his studio and from private collections.

Exhibition duration: March 10, 2023 to April 28, 2023, Mon - Fri, 10 am - 5 pm.

Admission is free.

The invitation to the exhibition opening can be downloaded here.
