What is BaföG?
Training assistance is provided for studies in accordance with the provisions of the Federal Training Assistance Act (BAföG). Training assistance is only granted if the student, his/her spouse and parents are not in a position to meet the costs necessary for training and living expenses on the basis of their own income and assets. In certain cases (e.g. many years of professional activity), the subsidy is granted without taking parental income into account.
