Integration concept of the city of Hof

Update

The integration concept of the city of Hof represents the integration work on site and is currently being updated. The aim is to create a concept that serves as a living instrument in order to be able to react flexibly to changes. It is also part of the social strategy pursued by the city of Hof and forms a bridge to the overall senior citizens' policy concept and sports development planning.

Expert panels

A total of seven expert panels dealt with key topics in the area of integration and migration. The topics were: Language, early childhood and school education, education, labour market, economy, housing and coexistence, health and prevention, civic engagement and participation as well as culture, leisure and sport.

The results of the round tables are now being analysed and processed.

Current status

The kick-off event for the update of the integration concept took place in December 2024 with guests from politics, society, social organizations and academia.

In addition to a keynote speech on the need to update the concept, the event was supplemented by a presentation from the university. The results of a sociological research seminar on the topic of "People with a migration background in the city of Hof" were presented. Afterwards, initial ideas and suggestions were collected at a get-together, which will be taken into account in the further work on developing the concept.

The participants were also informed about the upcoming expert panels and informed of the opportunity to register for these. These will take place from 2025 and will deal with several key topics in the area of integration and migration. One of the aims of these rounds is to identify current challenges and develop possible solutions in the form of measures or projects. Citizen participation

Committed citizens have contributed their ideas and suggestions

On 19 March 2025, a public participation event was held on the premises of Evangelische Jugendsozialarbeit Hof e.V. (EJSA) to update the city of Hof's integration concept. Around 20 committed citizens took the opportunity to contribute their ideas and suggestions. The constructive discussions and productive interaction emphasised the importance of the exchange.
