Gourmet market

Under the motto "Experience pleasure - taste regionality" the Genussort Hof invites you to the Gourmet market around the Maxplatz on Saturday, July 5, 2025. Between 8 am and 4 pm, visitors can look forward to a wide range of regional specialties, traditional handicrafts and hands-on culinary activities.

With a mixture of market hustle and bustle, gastronomy, cultural highlights and craftsmanship, the Gourmet market offers a special city experience. The focus is on the diversity of regional producers, manufacturers, butchers and breweries. Together they create a "long gourmet table" across the city center - for tasting, lingering and exchanging ideas.

Admission is free.

Official opening and programme highlights

The official opening of the market will take place at 9.00 am, accompanied by music from "Die Gschrubbten", who will frame the morning with traditional entertainment. In addition to the established stalls of the Hof weekly market, which will remain open until 4.00 pm on this day, numerous initiatives will complement the offer.

Activities for young and old

  • The Museum Bayerisches Vogtland is taking part in the "Schnitz für Kids" event series "Entdecker unterwegs": children visit the market, buy fresh ingredients and then cook a traditional "Hofer Schnitz". The museum accepts registrations.
  • The market service (10.45-11.15 am) in St Michael's Church invites you to reflect.
  • The Porzellanikon provides exciting insights into the world of deceptively real food replicas with its exhibition "Fake Food - Food between appearance and reality".
  • Art meets specialities: an exhibition by Ingrid Ammen, Reinhard Heidig and Carola Wölfl as part of FreiRaum combines indulgence with art.

Culinary delights and music

  • Gourmet ambassador Felix Bense presents the "Genussregal Oberfranken" and invites you to a culinary tour of the city at 1.00 pm, which ends with a whisky tasting at Cigar House Wagner.
  • Slawek Dudar Trio (from midday): Live music with saxophone, double bass and electric piano creates a relaxed atmosphere on the Maxplatz.
  • Barbecue seminar organised by VHS Hofer Land (4.00 pm): To round off the event, there will be tips and tricks from a barbecue professional - with barbecue character.

Food stands and exhibitors (selection)

  • Café Jasmin will spoil you with vegetarian and vegan dishes.
  • Hof butchers will be showcasing their variety of bratwurst at the joint barbecue stand run by gourmet ambassador Ralf Weigold
  • The farmers' association will be focussing on the topic of milk with its own stand - including the largest milk churn in the city.
  • Meinel brewery with beer-pro-beer stand
  • Scherdel brewery with the team from the market parlour
  • Bärbel Scherdel with Franconian wine and tapas specialities
  • Tea mix creations by Susanne Lang and the classic Wärschtlamo provide culinary surprises and photographic memories.
  • Münchberg as a place of enjoyment with "Kulcity" products

Other speciality stands: Turkish delicacies, baked blood, original Hofer Wärschtlamo, honey from Hofer Bienen, international specialities, Waffel Matz, game, spices and much more - complemented by the well-known traders from the weekly market. The Genussmarkt is part of the "Genussort Hof" initiative and impressively demonstrates what the region has to offer in terms of cuisine, craftsmanship and culture.
