Gourmet market
Under the motto "Experience pleasure - taste regionality" the Genussort Hof invites you to the Gourmet market around the Maxplatz on Saturday, July 5, 2025. Between 8 am and 4 pm, visitors can look forward to a wide range of regional specialties, traditional handicrafts and hands-on culinary activities.
With a mixture of market hustle and bustle, gastronomy, cultural highlights and craftsmanship, the Gourmet market offers a special city experience. The focus is on the diversity of regional producers, manufacturers, butchers and breweries. Together they create a "long gourmet table" across the city center - for tasting, lingering and exchanging ideas.
Admission is free.
Official opening and program highlights
The official opening of the market will take place at 9.00 a.m., accompanied by music from "Die Gschrubbten", who will frame the morning with traditional entertainment. In addition to the established stalls of the weekly market in Hof, which will remain open until 4 p.m. on this day, numerous initiatives will complement the offer:
- The Museum Bayerisches Vogtland is taking part in the "Schnitz for Kids" event series "Entdecker unterwegs": children visit the market, buy fresh ingredients and then cook a traditional "Hofer Schnitz". The museum accepts registrations.
- Porzellanikon's exhibition "Fake Food - Food between appearance and reality" provides exciting insights into the world of deceptively real food replicas.
- Indulgence ambassador Felix Bense presents the "Genussregal Oberfranken" and invites visitors to a culinary city tour at 1 p.m., which ends with a whisky tasting at Cigar House Wagner.
- Café Jasmin, the Hof breweries, a joint barbecue stand from several butchers and numerous specialty vendors - including vegetarian and vegan options - will provide culinary variety.
- The farmers' association will be focusing on the topic of milk with its own stand - including the largest milk churn in the city.
- The Marktstüberl orchestra, conducted by Ingrid Petzny, will accompany the serving.
- Tea mix creations by Susanne Lang and the classic Wärschtlamo will provide culinary surprises and photographic memories.
From the midday ringing of the St. Michael's Church, fine, jazzy sounds can be heard on the Maxplatz. Finally, the Hofer Land Adult Education Center invites you to a barbecue seminar from 4 p.m. - the perfect end to a day full of enjoyment, encounters and discoveries.
