Longer waiting times are currently to be expected for decisions on housing benefit applications. We are aware that the current situation is particularly challenging for many households due to rising prices. The improvements to housing benefits introduced by the Federal Government have resulted in a very high volume of applications and corresponding processing backlogs. Please be assured that our employees are doing their utmost to keep processing times as short as possible. By submitting your application in full and with the necessary supporting documents and refraining from making enquiries that are not absolutely necessary (e.g. about the processing status), you can also help to speed up processing.

Information on the application process
Please take the opportunity to call us before submitting your application to find out more about your housing benefit application and the required documents. We will advise you on the phone and also point out other social benefit entitlements. We will then be happy to send you a housing benefit application form and an overview of the required documents. You also have the option of completing the housing benefit application online and printing it out or submitting it directly online.

Housing benefit applications with the relevant documents can be posted in the letterbox of the City of Hof, Klosterstraße 3. For personal consultations, please make an appointment by telephone. This has the advantage that waiting times can be avoided, requests can be processed more effectively and minimum distances can be maintained.
