Business school

Together with the FOS/BOS Hof, the Hof Business School forms the State Vocational School Center Hof II. It comprises grades 5 to 10 after elementary school or alternatively grades 9 and 10 after secondary school or as a lateral entry from other general education schools. The business school is a vocational, pre-vocational school and provides basic vocational training in addition to a general education. With the further development of the school type that has now been implemented, four major PLUSs can be identified:

A PLUS in individualization: with flexible curricula that tie in with the life situation of the learners, learning areas can be individually determined by the pupils and teachers. In addition, there are a total of 9 so-called "modules" to choose from in the pre-degree classes, which are based on megatrends and from which up to six can be selected. E-commerce, fit for finance, health, gamification, robotics and life skills are just a few examples.

A PLUS in practice is achieved on the one hand in the protected space of the final examination subject "Practice Enterprise". Here, students increasingly act independently as employees of a simulated wholesale company. On the other hand, this is supported by several phases of "specialist practical activities". Depending on access options, students complete between 15 and 20 mandatory days of supervised and assessed work experience during lessons. There are also collaborations with companies and businesses from the commercial and technical/industrial sectors as well as the FOS/BOS Hof.

A PLUS in digital education is achieved with the subject "Digital Education" from Year 5 onwards and the introduction of tablet classes as part of a pilot project.

The final plus in technology makes it clear that although the focus remains on basic commercial education, the subject "People, Environment, Technology" or the above-mentioned megatrends with offerings from the STEM field will provide a broader spectrum.

A final examination is taken in the subjects German, math, English and practice companies.
