The separation counseling service of the Psychological Counseling Center at Treffpunkt Familie, Hof supports men and women who are going through separation or divorce.
Bunter Kreis Bayreuth
The Bunte Kreis cares for families with sick or prematurely born children. It has its own Harl.e.kin aftercare department at Bayreuth Hospital and also offers support for families with affected children from the Hof region. The flyer lists the support services on offer.
Parental allowance and Bavarian family allowance
Parental allowance
Mother and father can receive parental allowance for up to 14 months in total if they devote most of their time to bringing up their children. Parental allowance plus and more flexible parental leave
Parental Allowance Plus will make it easier for mothers and fathers to combine parental allowance and part-time work. Further information can be found in the Bavarian Parental Allowance Guide from the ZBFS.
Bavarian family allowance
Parents receive the Bavarian family allowance for children born on or after October 1, 2015, regardless of income, employment, crèche care or daycare. The ZBFS provides information and a service hotline is also available.

Family Center Mütterclub Hof e.V.
The Mütterclub Hof e.V. family center supports and relieves families in their everyday lives with a wide range of services and makes them more lively. It offers all families the opportunity to meet and exchange ideas in the open meetings and play and toddler groups, as well as to attend courses and seasonal festivals.

Early support
Early intervention centers are open points of contact for families who are seriously concerned about the development of their children or who have been recommended early intervention by specialists. Early intervention centers also work on a mobile basis (home visits). In the city and district of Hof, two providers offer early advice and support: the early support services of Lebenshilfe Hof and Montessori-Vita Hof.

In the city and district of Hof, there is currently a maternity clinic in Hof and a birthing center in Rehau. The maternity clinic in Naila is currently closed.
Midwives and family midwives
The help, guidance and support provided by midwives and obstetricians includes prenatal care, birth, postnatal care, all questions relating to breastfeeding, baby care and support during the postnatal phase. As a rule, you can contact the midwife you trust directly. The costs are covered by your health insurance. Privately insured persons must obtain information about their entitlement to benefits from their private health insurance company.

The public health department provides advice and information on health issues and various life situations. The advice center of the State Health Office is located at Theaterstr. 8 in 95028 Hof.

The Pregnancy Advisory Service of the State Health Office is the point of contact for the city and district of Hof for all questions relating to sexuality and pregnancy. The Diakonie Hochfranken psychological counseling center supports children, adolescents and adults when difficulties arise in life that cannot be solved on their own. Diagnostics for developmental delays, crying outpatient clinic
The SPZ Hochfranken is a medically run socio-paediatric center for the diagnosis and treatment of developmental and behavioral disorders in children and adolescents. Its work focuses on children with developmental delays or impending or manifest disabilities or children with other chronic illnesses that can affect their mental and somatic development.

ATTENTION: Danger to life due to shaking trauma
If parents lose their nerve and shake their baby violently, the consequences can be very serious: Shaking trauma is life-threatening!
Violence against the child, in whatever form, is a taboo! Every year, 100 to 200 babies and toddlers are brought to German hospitals with shaking trauma. More than half of them remain severely disabled for the rest of their lives, are blind or suffer from seizures. Every third child dies. Parents or caregivers who are interviewed later often say that they did not realize what shaking could do to a baby.

At the Therapeutic-Pedagogical Center (TPZ) of Lebensilfe Hof e.V., children and young people with mental and physical disabilities are supported and cared for all day in the areas of school, day care and therapy.

Confidential birth means that you can give birth to your child in a medically safe and confidential manner. You will be advised and accompanied by a counselor who is bound by legal confidentiality: before and after the birth - if you wish. You will only disclose your identity once to the consultant, who will record your personal details and ensure that they are stored securely. At the age of 16, your child can find out your identity and thus its origin.
