Railroad connection

The city of Hof has two train stations, in addition to the main station, there is also the station Hof-Neuhof.

Hof's main station itself is an international hub for passenger and freight traffic on one of the main transport routes between southern, central and eastern europe. the city of Hof is thus integrated into supraregional rail traffic via appropriate train systems.

Hof lies on the following main lines of the Deutsche Bahn AG: Munich-Regensburg-Hof; Würzburg-Bamberg-Hof; Nuremberg-Hof; Hof-Leipzig-Berlin; Hof-Chemnitz-Dresden. The important north-south route Nuremberg - Hof - Dresden / Leipzig - Berlin (Franken-Sachsen-Magistrale) is in the process of being expanded and ensures good rail connections for Hof as a business location. In Nuremberg, Bamberg, Würzburg and Leipzig, there are connections to the DB Intercity system with direct connections to many major German and European cities. Rail customers who want to travel to Prague can easily reach the Czech capital from Hof with a one-time change in Hof's twin town of Cheb (Eger).

A large freight station is also available in Hof. At the Hof freight station, a container terminal ensures direct daily connections to the seaports of Hamburg and Bremerhaven. The Hof freight station is currently being expanded into a modern freight center.
