One rock plays a major role in the region around Hof: granite. This almost 300 million year old deep rock with its unique scenery forms the Fichtelgebirge, which is always worth a trip from Hof. Whether the 877 m high Waldstein, whose lookout point Schüssel and the Bärenfang you should definitely visit, Weißenstadt with its spa gardens and lake or the source of the Eger near Bischofsgrün: The Fichtelgebirge attracts with exhilarating scenery and a variety of attractions - and that in summer for hiking and walking as well as in winter for skiing at several lifts around the Ochsenkopf. Unique in Europe is the breathtaking rock labyrinth at Luisenburg Castle, right next to Germany's oldest natural rock stage, where the Luisenburg Festival takes place every year in the summer months in a unique atmosphere. In addition, the factory outlets of the global brands Rosenthal, Hutschenreuther and Villeroy & Boch, as well as an outlet center in Selb, invite you to take a shopping tour. Also to be found in Selb is the Porzellanikon, which at 9000 square meters is the largest special museum for porcelain in Europe.

In the west of Hof you will find another gem in the heart of Europe: the Frankenwald Nature Park in the far north of Bavaria is a hiking forest, fairytale forest, fitness center and gourmet region all in one - a paradise for families, sports enthusiasts and gourmets.Kronach is home to the Rosenberg Fortress, one of the most beautiful and largest fortifications in Europe, the wild and romantic Höllental Valley, through which the Selbitz River makes its way to the Saale River, is just as inviting a place to visit as the state casino in the state spa of Bad Steben, to name just a few of the highlights that can be discovered here.
