Bohemian Spa Triangle

Czech Republic

The Czech Republic is also so close that you can easily reach it from Hof as part of a day trip. One of the most interesting destinations is the fashionable Karlovy Vary in the Bohemian Spa Triangle. Its spa district in the wooded hills hides lookout points and walking paths, and during a stroll through the city you will pass luxurious spa houses and princely sanatoriums. You should also taste the hot mineral springs and the typical sweet Karlovy Vary wafers and admire the ornate buildings from historicism and art nouveau. The flair of the promenades and the spa is unmistakable, international and an experience at any time of the year. Mariánské Lázn?, the youngest of the Czech spas, enchants with its imperial yellow buildings in the middle of a magnificent forest landscape. From there it is only a few kilometers to Franzensbad. The smallest of the Bohemian spas is also the most charming: imperial yellow facades with typical spa architecture from the Wilhelminian period characterize the spa center with its spacious park. In contrast to the world-famous spas of Karlovy Vary and Mariánské Lázn?, one could relax in Franzensbad away from the public eye. In a medieval center of power, one finds oneself in the center of Eger, Hof's youngest twin town. Today, Cheb Castle and the splendid houses of the most distinguished families on the market square are protected monuments and are home to stores and restaurants.
