The registry office issues the birth certificate. The birth of a child must be reported to the registry office in whose jurisdiction the place of birth is located. The hospitals or other facilities where obstetric care is provided, each parent of the child if he or she has custody, or any other person who was present at the birth or is informed of the birth from his or her own knowledge are required to report the birth.
