Online services

Here you will find our services currently already available online at the City of Hof. We are constantly working to expand the number of services available online. Some of these services you can use without further ado, others require the BayernID or the eID / online ID function of your identity card.

We will explain how all this works...

Explanation

BayernID

With your personal BayernID, you can apply for services from the city of Hof and other administrations directly online and securely receive messages from public authorities. Once stored, personal data does not have to be entered again each time you use an online procedure of the administration, but can be taken directly from your BayernID.

Online procedures and services of other authorities can be accessed via theBayernPortal, the BayernApp or via a search engine to find and select them easily and conveniently.

How does the BayernID work?

You use the BayernID to confirm your identity in an online procedure and to transfer your data to the online form. Your BayernID mailbox is then used to receive mailbox messages from the online procedure, e.g. the digital notice.

Basically, the process of an online procedure with BayernID looks like this:

Authentication with the identity card

Simple | comfortable | safe

In some cases, proof of identity with the BayernID alone is not sufficient; this is where the new ID card comes into play. The online ID function (also known as eID function ) of the ID card, in conjunction with the electronic forms provided, is recognized as a substitute for written form or in many cases eliminates the need to appear in person. Incidentally, this also applies to the electronic residence permit (eAT).

The city of Hof is increasingly integrating eID functionality into its e-government offerings. Thanks to the possibility of simple and secure authentication (proof of identity) with the online ID function, you can thus use many other administrative services around the clock and everywhere.

How does it work in practice?

Your ID card is equipped with a chip. This allows you to use your ID card online and identify yourself on the Internet when you use digital services. With a little practice, online identification takes just a few seconds. It's especially fast with a smartphone.

Important: Your data is always protected when you identify yourself in the digital world!

You can see which authority or company receives the data, that the government authorization for the transmission of the data exists, and which data is transmitted from your online ID card. With your online ID card, you determine yourself whether and to whom you transmit your personal data in encrypted form.
