Interesting promotion for companies

Bavaria achieves top scores in innovation, technology, research and development. The economic climate is excellent and the environment is reliable. As a business and technology location, Hof is part of this. Hof is one of the few cities in Bavaria with investment support from the joint task "Improvement of the regional economic structure" and at the same time a region supported by the EU Structural Funds. Hof is a structural policy focus, as can be seen from numerous economic projects with the Free State of Bavaria. The funding is right, the networks are right and the support is warm and effective.

The business development department of the city of Hof will be happy to advise you and assist you with the procedures.

Promotion through the joint task

The city of Hof is a C funding priority of the joint task "Improvement of the regional economic structure". Here, investments by eligible companies in the construction (new establishment), expansion, conversion or fundamental rationalization of a business establishment are supported.

Essentially, the acquisition or production costs of the tangible fixed assets included in the investment project and the acquisition costs of intangible assets, insofar as these are capitalized, are subsidized. Payroll-related subsidies are also possible.

Currently, funding has been extended to investments in energy efficiency and alternative energy sources.

Funding is provided in the form of a grant or, alternatively, in the form of a loan.

Hof as a promotional region

The city of Hof is an assisted region within the framework of the EU ERDF "Regional Competitiveness and Employment".

The structural policy objective is to support the economic and social conversion of areas. The two major EU funds, ERDF and ESF, feed this support. Operational investments and projects in the field of technology transfer and innovation policy that benefit local companies are promoted through existing Bavarian programs.

In addition to these exceptional subsidies, the entire range of Bavarian and federal subsidy programs is available in Hof.

Areas of subsidies

  • classical investment promotion
  • Research
  • Development
  • Environmental protection
  • Export
  • Consulting

Especially the extensive research and technology programs and projects of the Free State of Bavaria, traditionally strong in this field, make the location Hof interesting in terms of subsidies.

General information on the EU Services Directive (EU-DLR)

Guidelines and contact persons

Many services are covered by the EU-DLR, such as tax consultants, architects, craftsmen, management consultants, advertising agencies, wholesalers and retailers, travel agencies, operation of sports and amusement parks, construction, publishing etc.

The term "service" thus includes not only the term "trade" from the German Trade Regulation Act, but also a very large field of entrepreneurial and self-employed activities. The EU refers to commercial, business, craft and freelance activities.

The most important contents of the EU-DLR are:

  • Reduction of bureaucratic obstacles to the provision of services
  • the right to information, e.g. information on requirements for the service, information on procedures and formalities to be complied with, information on the competent authorities, professional associations and organizations, information on legal remedies
  • the possibility for the service provider to submit the application and further procedural handling electronically at a distance
  • the creation of "Points of Single Contact" (PSCs), through which all the necessary formalities and procedures required for the performance of the service can be carried out.

Single Point of Contact (PSC)

The most important instrument for implementing the EU GDPR is the Single Point of Contact (PSC). In Bavaria, the single points of contact are generally located at the chambers and, in some cases, also at the districts and independent cities (option municipalities). The city of Hof has not opted, so that for its area the responsibility of the EA remains exclusively with the chambers listed below.

The EA's task is to be the contact person for the service provider and to obtain all necessary permits required to perform the respective service. The EA shall inform the service provider of all procedures and formalities required for the commencement and performance of a service, receive the application and forward it to the competent authority. The EA thus relieves the service provider of the necessary personal application on site and administrative procedures.

It is up to the service provider to decide whether to make use of this service; as before, the service provider can also contact the competent authority directly.

Special attention is drawn to the following: If the application to perform a service is not approved or rejected within a certain period (this is still required for some services), the application is automatically considered approved.

The single point of contact responsible for you:

Bavarian Chamber of Architects

Bavarian Chamber of Engineers - Construction

Bavarian Chamber of Veterinarians

Chamber of Crafts for Upper Franconia

Chamber of Industry and Commerce for Upper Franconia Bayreuth

Bar Association for the district of the Bamberg Higher Regional Court

The EA listed below are responsible for the area of the city of Hof - depending on the issue:

Within the city administration of Hof, the Department of Economic Development provides information on EU-DLR issues and forwards incoming applications and inquiries to the responsible municipal departments.

Service Team Economic Development

Competition is one side of entrepreneurial cooperation - collaboration is the other. Where strong networks are effective, successful growth is programmed. In Hof and the region, the local companies know this and cultivate close cooperation in specialized networks. And when it comes to funding or financing, the city's business development department knows the what and the how.

Its connections to the Free State of Bavaria, to the licensing authorities and to all relevant agencies benefit the company - regardless of whether it is a new settlement, an expansion or any other change. The Economic Development Agency sees itself as a customer-oriented service center and the first point of contact for the business community. Service for individual companies is a top priority. Joint projects are initiated and fields of competence are expanded. Networks between universities, research institutes and technology partners as well as the players in labor market policy are established - for the economy and with the economy.

In the course of settlement and investment project management, the Economic Development Department offers support and guidance for all upcoming tasks - quickly, competently and reliably. Our service catalog shows you what we offer.
