Traveling exhibition "Wanting to know everything. The Stasi and its documents"

The exhibition will be on display in the foyer of the Hofer Land Adult Education Center from February 18 to March 26, 2025.

The Federal Archives - Stasi Records Archive is bringing the traveling exhibition "Alles Wissen Wollen. The Stasi and its documents" to Hof. The exhibition will be on display in the foyer of the Hofer Land Adult Education Center from February 18 to March 26, 2025. The focus is on original documents and objects from the archive's holdings, which provide an impressive insight into the work of the GDR secret police. The exhibits include Stasi surveillance photos, a planning map for monitoring a state visit and personal items belonging to those affected.

 

Opening on February 18 with panel discussion

The exhibition will be officially opened on February 18, 2025 at 5 p.m. in the foyer of the VHS Hofer Land, Ludwigstraße 7. After welcoming speeches by Mayor Eva Döhla and Daniela Münkel, Acting Head of the Mediation and Research Department at the Stasi Records Archive, there will be a panel discussion on the topic of "Remembering for the future". In addition to Eva Döhla and Daniela Münkel, Kerstin Wolf, Mayor of Plauen, will also take part in the discussion. The discussion will be moderated by Sabine Hager. The focus will be on the significance of the Stasi files for today's understanding of democracy and the culture of remembrance.
