Sewer renewal through Haidt
Sewer renewal in the Haidt thoroughfare begins
In anticipation of the planned expansion of the Haidt thoroughfare by the Bayreuth State Building Authority from 2026, the city of Hof is starting preparatory measures:From Monday, 28 July 2025, the company Streicher from Oelsnitz will begin sewer renewal in Plauener Straße (B 173) on behalf of the city of Hof. The measure affects the area from the "Obere Labyrinthstraße" junction to the "Gut Haidt" riding centre (house no. 121). The construction work is expected to last until 24 October 2025.
During the construction period, traffic will be managed on one side only, controlled by mobile construction site traffic lights. The city of Hof asks all road users to pay particular attention and show consideration in the construction site area. For safety reasons, the pavement on the south side of Plauener Straße will be closed during the entire construction period. Pedestrians and cyclists will be diverted via Haidtanger. Appropriate signage will be installed.
Residents will still be able to reach their properties. However, there may be temporary restrictions or short waiting times during certain construction phases. Drivers familiar with the area are asked to avoid the area as far as possible in order to avoid additional inconvenience.
In coordination with HofBus GmbH, a temporary bus stop will be set up on Obere Labyrinthstraße for the 15E15 school bus route. Further details can be found in the separate communication from HofBus GmbH.
The city of Hof - also on behalf of the construction company Streicher - asks all citizens for their understanding for the inconvenience caused by the work. This measure is an important first step towards the long-term improvement of the infrastructure in Haidt.
