Renewal of the biotope bridges at Lake Untreusee

The renewal of the two outer biotope bridges at Untreusee in Hof will begin next week.

Update: Since Friday, February 16, 2024, the bridges have been completed and the paths around the lake are once again fully accessible.

The planned work will take around three weeks.

During this construction period, it will not be possible to make the short loop around the lake via the bridges. It will also be necessary to temporarily close the paths around the biotope to Eppenreuther Mühle, as the material is being delivered there and cranes are being used.

The repair measures include the replacement of the two superstructure structures, which have suffered considerable damage to their stability. The existing steel components and the concrete abutments can continue to be used and the bridges can be rebuilt largely identically to the previous design.
