Job coaching project to be continued
At its most recent meeting, the Holiday Committee decided to continue the tried-and-tested "Jobcoaching" project. The job coaching project, which has been running since 2019, aims to help improve the stabilization and motivation of young people with multiple barriers to placement in order to facilitate their integration into the labour market. The aim is to jointly develop future prospects that include gradual professional integration.
The project will now continue from October 1, 2024 to September 30, 2025. The number of participants is limited to a maximum of 14 and the participation period is 12 months. It is possible to join the project at any time. Participants brush up on their general school knowledge, undergo job application training and gain practical experience in the wood workshop at the youth workshop. The young people also take part in project work, such as making and selling goods at the Christmas market.
In view of an unemployment rate of 5.9% and an underemployment rate of 10.0% in 2023 (source: Bavarian State Ministry for Family, Labor and Social Affairs), supporting socially disadvantaged young people in Hof remains extremely important. Young people under the age of 25 are particularly affected, of whom 11.3% are unemployed in Hof according to statistics from the Federal Employment Agency.
The project is carried out in close cooperation with the Jobcenter of the city of Hof, in cooperation with the Berufliches Schulzentrum Hof - Stadt und Land as well as other schools in Hof and the Chamber of Crafts. The project is funded by the Schiffbauer Foundation.
