Fiber optic expansion in three phases
Planning is currently in full swing to provide the city of Hof with a stable and future-proof fiber optic network. In this network modernization, Telekom is relying on the fast, high-performance fiber optic network right into the home (Fiber to the Home - FTTH), which will enable bandwidths in the gigabit range in the future.
Booking phase
In order for the fiber optic connection to be established, you need to order the fiber optic connection from Deutsche Telekom. Regardless of whether you are a tenant, owner or administrator, the fiber optic connection will only reach you if you place an order.
(It pays to be quick).
Construction phase and use
Telekom will contact you after your registration and discuss the details of connecting the building directly with you. Your building will only be connected if you agree to the jointly discussed connection.
Once the construction phase in your residential and business premises is complete, you can activate your Telekom fiber optic product and surf directly via the new high-performance fiber optic network.
Order network modernization now free of charge
To ensure that as many people as possible in the expansion area are included in the current expansion, citizens in Hof now have the opportunity to order a fiber optic connection via Telekom. The best thing is: Anyone in the expansion area in Hof who opts for a fiber optic connection with a suitable Telekom tariff saves the one-off connection costs of €799.95.

What is it all about?
Deutsche Telekom intends to expand the city of Hof nationwide with fiber optics to the home. From 02.08.2024 it will be possible to book corresponding fiber optic tariffs. From this date, Deutsche Telekom will actively provide information about the requirements and the associated possibilities.
What role does the city of Hof play?
The city is exclusively active in an administrative or supportive capacity, i.e. we act as an intermediary for approvals and contact persons and provide support with applications and the approval process for all aspects of civil engineering so that the fiber optic expansion can be implemented and the associated traffic restrictions are kept to a minimum. The city is the cooperation partner, not the client. According to the Telecommunications Act (TKG), every telecommunications company (TKU) is entitled to push ahead with its own expansion in the urban area.

The fiber optic expansion is planned in stages for the city area. The address-specific fiber optic installation can be requested directly from Telekom, e.g. on the website www.telekom.de/glasfaser.
When will the expansion take place?
The start of the expansion is currently being finalized with the civil engineering companies and is planned for the end of 2024. If a fiber optic connection has been ordered, the customer will be informed of its status and the exact date of provision in good time.
How much will it cost me?
The Telekom fiber optic tariff can be ordered from 02.08.2024. In the course of this, the house connection in conjunction with a Telekom fiber optic tariff is free of charge, regardless of the length of the laying route to the house. This eliminates the installation costs of 799 euros. Within the house, up to 20 meters are laid free of charge if the customer prepares the installation himself. "Who's that ringing at the door?"
From 12.08.2024, Deutsche Telekom employees will provide information on site at the front door. The employees can be recognized by the Telekom clothing with logo and carry a photo ID with them. In addition, all employees are legitimized by a personnel number. Anyone who is unsure whether they are Deutsche Telekom sales staff at the front door can contact the authorization hotline on 0800 330 9765.
