"Love letters from Nice" lured senior citizens from Hof to the movies

This week saw the successful launch of the newly initiated senior citizens' cinema.

A good 55 visitors watched "Love Letters from Nice" in the large cinema auditorium 1. From 2 p.m. onwards, the cinema enthusiasts chatted over coffee and croissants in a relaxed atmosphere before it was time to watch the film at 2.30 p.m.

The four-part series of events was opened by Mayor Eva Döhla, Chairman of the Seniors' Council Siegfried Erhardt, Second Chairwoman of the Seniors' Council Gabriele Rogge, Deputy Director of the Hof Hospital Foundation Monika Frank and Jessica Popp from Central Kino. "We are delighted that there is so much interest. Sit back and enjoy the afternoon," said Siegfried Erhardt, Chairman of the Seniors' Council.

Döhla welcomes the initiative of the senior citizens' cinema: "In addition to interesting films, the opportunity for exchange and participation is offered." This year, the CentralKino in Hof's old town is showing three more films as part of the senior citizens' cinema:

  • Wednesday, October 16, 2024: "Monsieur Pierre goes online"
  • Wednesday, November 13, 2024: "A small piece of the cake"
  • Wednesday, December 11, 2024: "The book walker"

The cinema ticket including coffee and croissant costs 8 euros. Please register at 09281 / 815-1792 or at seniorenrat(at)stadt-hof.de. However, last-minute bookings can also be made spontaneously. The senior citizens' cinema is an initiative of the Hof Seniors' Council, the CentralKino Hof and the city of Hof. Special thanks go to the Hof Hospital Foundation and the Sparkasse Hochfranken bank, which support the project financially.
