Lecture on German policy towards Russia

The city of Hof, in cooperation with the Hanns Seidel Foundation, invites you to this interesting and spectacular lecture evening on Thursday, April 24, 2025, at 7:00 pm in the large conference room of the town hall on the topic "Special train to Moscow - History of German Russia policy since 1990".

Russia has been waging a war of aggression in Ukraine for three years now. The war has also long since reached the people of Russia - through the propaganda of the state media, the waves of mobilization and the crackdown on opposition and anti-war protests. Since February 24, 2022, Germany's Russia policy has been in shambles. Dr. Bastian Matteo Scianna, research associate at the University of Potsdam, has evaluated previously inaccessible archive holdings and presents the first scientifically sound reappraisal of one of the most controversial topics in contemporary German history. His fundamental analysis shows that the story is much more complex than sometimes portrayed.
