Hof takes part in Earth Hour once again

The city of Hof is once again taking part in the global Earth Hour campaign this year, which will take place on March 22 from 8:30 pm to 9:30 pm. Since 2020, Hof has regularly taken part in this WWF campaign to send a visible signal for climate protection and the responsible use of natural resources.
Under the motto "Lights off. Voice on. Together for a living planet", Earth Hour 2025 invites people not only to symbolically switch off the lights, but also to actively raise their voices. All citizens, businesses, schools, associations and initiatives are invited to take part in this important campaign by singing and making music together, thus sending an audible signal for climate protection.
Mayor Eva Döhla: "We are part of this global campaign. Each and every one of us can and should make a contribution. That's why I would particularly like to encourage the people of Hof and our companies to actively participate and set an example for our environment together."
In Hof itself, public street lighting is already reduced to the necessary level all year round. For this reason, participation will mainly take the form of an appeal to citizens and businesses to consciously do without unnecessary lighting on this evening. For organizational reasons, the street lighting in the Wölbattendorf district will not be switched off this year.
New this year is the opportunity to support climate protection with musical contributions. Interested parties can register their activities and find further information on the official Earth Hour website at www.wwf.de/earth-hour
