Facade of Freiheitshalle - Out-of-court settlement
After almost 12 years, the long-running proceedings to secure evidence regarding the façade of the Freiheitshalle have been concluded with an out-of-court settlement.
The value of the proceedings amounted to EUR 1.78 million at the beginning of July 2024. A final, conclusive report from the expert was and is still not available. The City of Hof and the architects' association have now reached an out-of-court settlement regarding the architects' fees in the legal proceedings. The City of Hof has received a lump-sum compensation amount of EUR 4.5 million net as damages. This settles the proceedings with the architects.
The internal process for further action has not yet been completed, meaning that it is not yet possible to make a statement about the effects. The question of what a possible new installation might look like also requires further coordination.
