New ideas for use

The city of Hof is launching an initiative to revitalize the city centre and is looking for creative minds who would like to implement their innovative business ideas. The aim is to fill vacant store spaces in a sustainable way and thus expand the range of offers in Hof's city center, as well as increase the quality of stay and attractiveness.

"With new ideas for use and innovative concepts, we want to actively shape the structural change in the city center and create space for exciting projects," explains Mayor Eva Döhla.

Whether alone, in a team or in collaboration with others - applicants are invited to submit their ideas for retail, café concepts, trade, crafts or social offerings. There are no limits to creativity: from manufacturing and selling your own products to combining different uses, anything is possible.

Interested parties can apply until February 28, 2025 as part of a competition. The jury, consisting of Rüdiger Laß, Head of Funding Support Center Hof, LfA Förderbank Bayern, Michael Böhm, City Manager at the City of Hof, Werner Fugmann, Managing Director of the digital start-up center Einstein1 and Florian Götz, Head of Economic Development at the City of Hof, will select three winners. The winning projects will be supported with attractive prizes in kind and services to make it easier to get started and promote implementation.

The City of Hof is working closely with a network of active partners on this project to provide the winners with the best possible support on their journey.

What are we looking for?

Innovative concepts for the revitalization of vacant retail spaces
Additions to the existing offering in the city center
Ideas that create diversity and attractiveness, be it in retail, gastronomy or in creative and social areas

Interested parties will find marked shop windows in the city center of Hof that are available as potential locations for their ideas.
