City of Hof shocked by the closure of the Neuhof spinning mill

Textile location Hof loses a company that shapes its identity.

The city council was informed of the problems and possible insolvency proceedings at an early stage. The city of Hof is shocked that the Neuhof spinning mill, a traditional Hof company with over 125 years of history, is facing such hard times. The closure of a company that is deeply rooted in the region and has produced innovative products in various branches of industry is affecting the workforce and the local community. As a textile location, Hof is losing another company that shapes its identity.

Mayor Eva Döhla is also concerned: "It is particularly depressing to think that the workforce, which has always seen itself as a 'spinning mill family' and has gone through difficult times together, is now facing an uncertain future. Even if this is a hard blow, I hope that new prospects will open up. We will follow developments closely."

The city of Hof is in contact with the employment agency to show employees possible prospects. Following the announcement of the redundancies, the employment agency visited the Spinnerei in person to explore new options together with the affected employees. In general, the employment agency sees good opportunities for the employees to find employment elsewhere.
