Childcare day

Eva Döhla visits the educational staff at BRKcasa Montessori.

With her visit to the "BRKcasa Montessori" kindergarten in Hof, Mayor Eva Döhla sent a clear signal of recognition for the work of the educational staff. The occasion was the nationwide Day of Childcare, which is celebrated every year after Mother's Day.

"You look after our little ones with heart, patience and great commitment. I would like to thank you for this on behalf of the city," said Döhla during her visit. The city of Hof deliberately uses this day of action to make the important work in all of Hof's daycare centers visible and to start a conversation. In addition to caring for children, the professionals promote their development, comfort, encourage and create a sense of security. For families, this means indispensable support in everyday life and makes it possible to combine family and career. "We know that your work is challenging - with increasing demands, a shortage of skilled workers and bureaucracy. Nevertheless, you give your best every day. You deserve respect and recognition for this," emphasized the Lord Mayor.

The BRKcasa Montessori - formerly Casa Montessori with a focus on Montessori education - has stood for a special form of early childhood education for over 20 years. Founded in 2001 as "Casa Montessori", the BRK Kreisverband Hof has been responsible for the facility since 2016. The educational concept has remained the same: Every child is allowed to develop at their own pace and according to their interests - true to the guiding principle "Help me to do it myself". Today, BRKcasa Montessori offers space for 79 children, including 24 nursery and 55 kindergarten places. The integrative approach is particularly noteworthy: up to 18 children with special needs currently benefit from this concept.

Since moving into the new building on Ossecker Straße in 2020, the facility has modern, child-friendly premises. Inclusion is actively practiced there - children with physical disabilities, chronic illnesses or special support needs play, learn and grow up together with everyone else. With her visit, Eva Döhla is joining a nationwide initiative in which representatives from politics, associations and society use Childcare Day to get an impression of the facility and express their appreciation.
