Award ceremony for Hofer City Cycling 2024

The city of Hof once again successfully took part in the nationwide "City Cycling" campaign during the campaign period from June 9 to 29, 2024. A total of 22 teams took part with an impressive 494 active cyclists, who together covered 122,551 kilometers. This enabled 20 tons of CO₂ emissions to be avoided this year.
At the award ceremony, Angela Bier, Mayor of the city of Hof, paid tribute to the achievements of all participants: "We invited all the winners today to honor their commitment. I am delighted that so many people took part again. A total of 494 active cyclists have set a great example for climate protection and cycling. I hope that we can build on such strong participation again next year."
The winning teams of the City Cycle 2024
- 1st place: RC Pfeil Hof, 18,764 kilometers cycled, 3,115 kg CO₂ saved
- 2nd place: DAV Hof (German Alpine Club Hof), 17,356 kilometers cycled, 2,881 kg CO₂ saved
- 3rd place: Lebenshilfe Hof, 14,612 kilometers driven, 2,426 kg CO₂ saved
The winning teams were not only delighted to receive recognition, but also a prize of 250 euros. Angela Bier emphasized how important the campaign is for the promotion of cycling and climate protection in Hof: "Thanks to the great participation, a clear signal was set once again. Together we have covered over 122,000 kilometers - an impressive distance that shows what we can achieve as a community." The next round of city cycling will take place in June 2025. The aim is to once again attract many motivated cyclists and perhaps even surpass this year's result.
