15 years of the German-German Film Festival and 35 years of German reunification

The twin cities of Hof and Plauen are calling on all institutions, associations and private individuals to actively participate in the 2025 anniversary program.

Next year, Hof and Plauen will not only be celebrating 35 years of German reunification, but also 15 years of the German-German Film Festival. These anniversaries offer a unique opportunity to honor the long-standing partnership between the two cities with creative and exciting projects.

Shaping together: Your contribution counts

Plauen and Hof would like to put together a varied program of events that actively involves the citizens. In addition to the Film Days, which will take place from November 14 to 18, 2025, workshops, concerts, readings, exhibitions and other events will enrich the anniversary year. All planned events and projects can be submitted to Jürgen Stader at the City of Hof. The editorial deadline for inclusion in the official brochure is February 28, 2025. Events can also be submitted later for publication on the website.

A living connection

The anniversary year 2025 is a unique opportunity to make the partnership between Hof and Plauen and German-German cooperation visible. Institutions, associations and private individuals can show through their contributions how lively this connection is and how much potential there is in cooperation. The German-German Film Days are a highlight of the anniversary program. They bring films, discussions and workshops to Hof and Plauen and celebrate the cultural cooperation between the two cities in their 15th year. At the same time, the anniversary of 35 years of German reunification will be an important part of the program, embedded in the theme of the living partnership and joint projects between Hof and Plauen.
