Initial refurbishment consultation

Do you own a vacant property or are you considering buying one?

The topic of building and renovation is often associated with a certain degree of uncertainty for laypeople and raises many questions:

  • How good is the existing building fabric?
  • What subsidies are available?
  • How much does a renovation cost?
  • How do I deal with listed buildings?
  • How do I approach an energy-efficient refurbishment?
  • How can I adapt the existing building to contemporary (living) requirements?

In order to clarify these questions and to give you more security, we offer an initial refurbishment consultation by experts.

Application in just a few minutes

You can obtain the application for an initial refurbishment consultation on request from the City of Hof's real estate campaign or directly here: Application for initial consultation.

The rest of the process:

  • Complete the application and submit it by post, email or directly here
  • After approval: Payment of the nominal fee and appointment with an expert
  • On-site consultation and documentation by the consultant
  • If you have any further questions, e.g. regarding funding opportunities, you can contact the real estate campaign

Please note that the number of initial refurbishment consultations per year is limited.

Requirements

for the use of consulting services by experts

  • The application can be made by the owner as well as by the prospective buyer, if it can be proven that the owner is interested in selling the building.
  • The building must have been constructed before 1970 and be located in the unplanned inner area
  • The property must have been vacant for at least 24 months or be severely underutilized.

In individual cases, deviations from the above-mentioned general conditions are also possible; the property should be a landmark, listed or otherwise outstanding object.

A nominal fee of € 100.00 is payable by the applicant for the use of the consulting service.
