EgroNet
The name of the local transport system EgroNet also refers to the Euregio Egrensis - the four-country corner between Bavaria, Bohemia, Thuringia and Saxony. Thanks to the low fares for network tickets and the coordinated timetables, there is the opportunity to encounter culture and people across national borders - tour suggestions for hiking and biking included.
A cross-border transport association
Hof is located in the middle of the cross-border local transport system EgroNet and is therefore an ideal starting point for a day trip by bus and train in the "Vierländereck" between Bavaria, Bohemia, Thuringia and Saxony. The EgroNet area covers an area of 15000 square kilometers between Gera, Zwickau, Aue, Karlovy Vary (Carlsbad), Marianske Lazne (Marienbad), Weiden and Lichtenfels.
The EgroNet ticket offers great advantages: It is valid uniformly on all means of transport, is attractive for families, is easy to use and includes bicycle transport. The day ticket for one person costs 24 euros (as of 01.06.2022), each additional person in a group of up to 5 people pays an additional 8 euros. Up to three children between the ages of 6 and 14 can be taken along free of charge per ticket. And any number of children up to the age of 5 also travel free of charge.
It doesn't matter whether you're crisscrossing the country for a day, traveling one way and back, or even if you want to interrupt your trip and do a bit of walking or biking - only one ticket is needed. With 7,334 stops, almost any travel option is possible for very different destinations. The low fares and coordinated schedules make it possible to encounter culture and people across national borders.
