Where indulgence is at home: 44 GenussOrte 2024 chosen in Bavaria

This makes Hof one of 44 Bavarian towns and municipalities to be honored for their unique culinary traditions, diverse craftsmanship and close cooperation between producers and restaurateurs. The award underlines the special importance of the city as a region of culinary delights and recognizes the commitment of all local players who contribute to culinary diversity.
The award ceremony took place at the beginning of September at the Bavarian State Ministry of Food, Agriculture and Forestry in Munich. Martin Schöffel, State Secretary in the Bavarian State Ministry of Finance and Home Affairs, presented the certificates on behalf of the Minister of Agriculture, Michaela Kaniber. Mayor Angela Bier and Florian Götz, Business Development Manager of the City of Hof, accepted the award on behalf of the City of Hof.
Minister Kaniber wrote: "Bavaria's culinary wealth is known and highly valued far beyond the borders of the Free State. Each of the award-winning places contributes to preserving our culinary culture and tradition and makes it accessible to everyone. This deserves great recognition and thanks from all of us." Once again, an independent, expert jury faced a challenging task: 15 representatives from areas such as agriculture, tourism and gastronomy, as well as the media and consumer interests and protection, selected the best "GenussOrte 2024" in Bavaria from over 80 applications.
Hof impresses with an impressive range of culinary offerings. Particularly noteworthy are the traditional craft businesses, such as Hof's butchers and bakers, which are organized through their guilds, as well as the regional breweries. With its direct marketers and regional delicacies, the town offers an exceptional experience for locals and visitors alike. Receiving the "Genussort" award once again is a great honor for Hof and shows how lively the city's culinary traditions are. The city of Hof will continue its efforts to market this "huge pound of pleasure" to tourists and to preserve the diversity of regional products.
