Twin city Cheb honors Dieter Döhla

On Thursday, January 4, 2024, Mayor Angela Bier visited Hof's twin city Cheb. The city administration around Mayor Jan Vrba had invited to the New Year's reception in the Svoboda Cultural Center. Among the citizens who have rendered outstanding services to the city of Cheb, Hof's former mayor Dieter Döhla was also honored. He received the honorary award from the city of Cheb for the development of Czech-German relations during his term of office from 1988 to 2006.

Mayor Jan Vrba looked back: "A fundamental act of cooperation between the cities of Hof and Cheb was the signing of the partnership agreement, which took place on January 27, 2004. The task of signing was undertaken by the then Lord Mayors, Jan Svoboda and Dieter Döhla. Thanks to this cooperation, representatives from Hof and Cheb meet regularly at cultural and social events, as part of club activities, festivals and celebrations."
