Traffic changes in Schützenstraße

Due to the construction work on the new student residence at Schützenstraße 10, there will be traffic changes and a detour for cyclists with immediate effect. The closures are expected to remain in place until May 2026. Due to the limited site area and the overhanging building structure as well as the necessary building construction crane, there is only very limited storage space available at the rear of the site. A large proportion of the construction site traffic must therefore be handled directly via Schützenstrasse.

To set up a loading and unloading zone, store building materials and set up scaffolding and cranes, the sidewalk and the red cycle lane leading into the city will be closed for the duration of the construction work by means of a construction fence. Cyclists who were previously able to cycle into the city against the one-way direction will now have to take an alternative route. To ensure road safety, a detour for cyclists will be set up and signposted accordingly for the duration of the closure. Cyclists are requested to use the detour via Hochstraße.
