Sewer replacement Schwalbenweg and Elsternsteig

On behalf of the city of Hof, the sewer replacement in Schwalbenweg/Elsternsteig will begin on Monday, 29 September 2025. The work will extend from Schwalbenweg 8 via Elsternsteig to the junction with Quetschenweg and is expected to last until the end of July 2026.

During the work, the affected road sections will be closed to through traffic. Pedestrians will still be able to use the road.

Residents will be able to access their properties and garages as far as possible, but temporary obstructions must be expected in the area of the current construction site.

The existing sewer is considerably overloaded hydraulically and shows structural damage of damage class 1 to 0, which means that immediate action is required, taking into account the legal requirements to be complied with. Uncontrolled seepage of wastewater into the surrounding soil and groundwater cannot be ruled out.
