Pupil transport: Verbundpass for the coming school year

Extension of the goodwill period until 17 October

Those responsible at the VGN have announced that the existing goodwill period for the extension of the network passes for school transport has been extended until 17 October 2025 (previously 30 September).

For eligible pupils who use public transport to get to school, the €365 ticket will again be issued for this school year. The necessary public transport pass must be applied for independently from Verkehrsverbund Großraum Nürnberg (VGN) via the school portal "VGNsmaxi" (https://smaxi.vgn.de). The tokens are issued by the school at the beginning of the school year.

According to VGN, however, not all eligible pupils have yet applied for or received their 365-euro VGN tickets or their weekly and monthly school tokens, so the existing goodwill arrangement is being extended until 17 October. During the goodwill period, in exceptional cases the Verbundpass must also be shown without a token or 365-Euro-Ticket VGN during inspections.
