Postal voting documents can be applied for
The City of Hof is informing all eligible voters about the possibility of casting their vote by postal vote. This offers flexibility, especially for those who are unable to vote on election day or would like to cast their vote from the comfort of their own home.
Every eligible voter receives an election notification around five weeks before election day, which contains a pre-printed postal vote application form. Alternatively, you can apply for a polling card and postal voting documents online via the Hof city website. Applications for postal voting documents should be submitted early so that preparatory work can be carried out in the municipalities. However, due to the early Bundestag elections, the ballot papers are not expected to be available to the municipalities until February 10, 2025. This means that postal voting documents can only be sent out from this date. Please refrain from inquiring about the whereabouts of postal voting documents that have already been requested.
The return of the postal ballot to the City of Hof is postage-free within Germany. If you send it from abroad or use special forms of postage, e.g. registered post, you will have to bear the postage costs yourself. Another option is to collect and hand in your postal voting documents at the Hof Citizens' Center from 10 February or to vote directly on site. This saves postal delivery times and increases the certainty that the documents will be received by the City of Hof on time.
Extended opening hours
In order to offer the best possible service, the City of Hof is extending the opening hours of the Citizens' Center for the collection and delivery of postal voting documents or voting on site in the period Monday, 10.02.2025 to Friday, 21.02.2025 as follows:
