P-Seminar "StadtLandMuseum" from Jean-Paul-Gymnasium Hof receives another award
Achim Hager, spokesman for the entrepreneurial initiative, praised the creative work of the students at the award ceremony and also emphasized the importance of cultural education.
The seminar impressed the jury with its comprehensive project work, which is characterized by a high level of personal initiative. External partners were actively involved and the audio guide can be used by visitors to the museum. The prize money amounts to 300 euros.
Bilingual audio guide about the favorite objects
The aim of the seminar was to develop an audio guide about the personal favorite objects of the 13 students. Together with the Museum Bayerisches Vogtland and the local radio station extra-radio, an audio guide was created that enables visitors to discover the objects in the City History, Refugees & Expellees and Natural History departments in a completely new way. The audio guide can be conveniently downloaded to a smartphone via the museum's Wi-Fi and offers free information in German and English.
Under the direction of Sabine Hager, Managing Director of extra-radio, the texts were recorded in German and English in the radio station's recording studio. The project was also supported by the BLM campaign "Mach Dein Radio" and the Rotary Club Bayern-Hof.
The English texts were translated and recorded by a native speaker, with pupils responsible for the quotes on object selection.
P-Seminar awarded for the second time
In February 2024, the project was awarded the "P-Seminar Prize" for Upper Franconia by the Bavarian Ministry of Education and Cultural Affairs. A total of 27 P-Seminars from all over Bavaria were awarded prizes in the joint competition organized by the Bavarian State Ministry of Education and Cultural Affairs, the Bavarian Business Association (vbw), the Bildungswerk der Bayerischen Wirtschaft e. V. (bbw) and the Eberhard von Kuenheim Foundation. According to the ministry, the selection process focuses in particular on concept, implementation and results. Four state winners will be chosen from the 27 regional winners in March.
