Oldest Hof resident turns 102

On Ascension Day, Willi Löhnert celebrated his 102nd birthday - the oldest male resident of the city of Hof and the fifth oldest resident overall in the city. Only four female residents in Hof are older than him. During her birthday visit, Mayor Eva Döhla conveyed the city's best wishes and paid tribute to Mr. Löhnert's impressive age.

Mayor Eva Döhla: "Willi Löhnert is a real Hofer veteran, and he still has a sense of humor today. His stories from the past are touching. It is an honor for me to visit him on his special day and to bring him the congratulations of the city of Hof".

During the visit, Willi Löhnert told of his imprisonment in the war and his last meeting with his father, who was later reported missing. The birthday boy celebrated his special day with his family and neighbors. Everyone joined him in a cheerful toast.
