Night of the Libraries on April 4
Hof City Library is taking part in the Germany-wide Night of Libraries on 4 April 2025 and is offering a varied program for all age groups. Visitors can look forward to expert advice on online services and research options. A creative highlight will also start in the afternoon: the Illumat - an illustration machine that fulfills spontaneous wishes. A varied program full of entertainment and creative experiences awaits guests until late in the evening.

An extraordinary illustration machine puts ideas on paper: the Illumat transforms concepts, thoughts or wishes into unique hand-drawn illustrations. From 14:00 to 17:00 and from 19:00 to 22:00, visitors have the opportunity to experience this interactive art project. Spontaneous inputs are transformed into fascinating pictures - an experience for young and old.
He came, saw and croaked - The Donald Duck show live!

A must for all Donald Duck fans! Peter Krause, the German dubbing voice of Donald Duck (1988-2019), and his musical partner P.R. Kantate bring the world's most famous duck to the stage. With film clips, live music and a unique quack workshop, the humorous world of Duckburg comes to life. The audience can look forward to exciting anecdotes and exclusive insights behind the scenes of the animated film.

The Hof Public Library invites you on a fascinating journey into the world of thumb cinematography. Artist and filmmaker Volker Gerling presents his unique flip-book works and tells the stories behind the moving images. This poetic art form brings images to life by simply flicking through them and inspires with its special aesthetics. The audience can look forward to a unique artistic experience and discover cinema in a completely new dimension.
